There's a shocking article called "The Subjects That Can No Longer Be Taught At School" in the French left-wing magazine, Marianne, this week. It describes an education system being eroded and undermined by the presence of Muslim pupils. Teachers lament classes that have become unteachable, where their pupils jeer and insult them when they try to teach something that conflicts with Muslim prejudice. The article doesn't appear on the magazine's website, but it is reproduced on Defrancisation here. I've translated some extracts from it below.
Julien, a teacher in earth and life sciences at a school in a Parisian banlieue, takes a sheaf of papers from his bag. Out of 32, 3 are totally blank. Exam topic: Darwin and his theory of evolution. He shows one of them, where a pupil has written: "I don't believe in this theory. I have nothing else to say." Julien sighs: "Every years it's the same. I have pupils who would rather get zero than write that man descends from apes."
...we were used to hearing about teachers of history complaining about their difficulties in teaching the Shoah or the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Religious tensions are now affecting biology lessons. "And French, music, art and sport ... Today all subjects can be disputed by pupils or their families, for religious reasons," declares Caroline Bray, representative of the High Council of Integration and co-author of a report on attacks on secularism in schools. In it we learn that in "a growing number of institutions" it is "not rare" for parents to refuse to send their children to primary schools on days where the Christianisation of the Gallo-Roman world is being taught or when there are visits to churches or Jewish cemeteries. It reveals that pupils boycott music classes because profane songs are heard there or art classes being human faces have to be drawn there.
Marion, teacher of biology in the Lille region, ...recently found herself giving a class in sexual education amid "cries, yells and insults". In the fifteen years that she had taught at this school in a sensitive area she had never experienced that. "After a Salafist imam took over a mosque in the estate last year, more and more pupils think it is forbidden to discuss these questions with a woman."
As for Valentin, a sports teacher in the Paris region, his pupils desert his swimming classes en masse during Ramadan for fear of inadvertently swallowing water.
The article describes how many teachers now arrange for imams or even just Arabs to visit the class to assure that pupils that the teaching does not conflict with Islam. A biology teacher found that his Muslim pupils refused to dissect parts of a pig until he started routinely bringing in an imam to tell them that, though eating pigs was forbidden, dissecting them was not.
Another has found that the only way to get peace when teaching classes on the Holocaust is to being in a old Algerian Muslim to tell of how his family hid Jews during the war. An atheist Arab teacher is frequently roped in by her colleagues to tell their mainly Muslim classes that courses in swimming/sexual education/history of the Christian world are not forbidden by Islam.
"It's distressing but many teachers develop avoidance strategies so as not to get into conflict with their classes," says Bernard Phan, vice-president of the Association of Teachers of History and Geography in Public Schools. "I have colleagues who tell pupils what they think they want to hear. For example, when they teach colonisation to classes mainly composed of people of immigrant origin, they only mention the negative aspects. It's a caricature version of history. The reality is much more nuanced. But some of them believe this is the price of social peace..."
Others simply abandon the teaching of subjects that make people angry, declares Sophie Ferhadjian, former teacher of history and geography in a Parisian banlieue, today a representative of a High Council of Integration. "In classes where Muslims are the majority, it is impossible to discuss the participation of African and Maghrebin tribal chiefs in the black slave trade. Pupils accuse the teachers of peddling lies out of pure Islamophobia. Suddenly, many people no longer teach this aspect of the question."
Marion, the teacher of biology in Lille, doesn't know whether she will "dare" to teach a course in Darwin this year. The previous year she went through "hell" with a third-year class that shouted "Liar! Liar!" for more than an hour. "Afterwards they turned on me and ruined all my classes until the summer holidays."

Free thought, actions and critical thinking are a alien concept to the Muslim faith. The failure and poverty of Muslims world wide is self inflicted. We must inhibit the influx of any Muslims into Europe, they will not starve in their miserable countries as Allah will provide. There should be no Mosques, faith schools and no schooling other than correct secular teaching. Failure to assimilate is a problem and the chronic unemployment is because they are unemployable, the concept of personal responsibility does not exist. They will have a job, Inshallah. Unfortunately Allah has been a poor source of job creation, except for a few scruffy Imans and suicide bombers.

First of all I think that France has the right to express their culture the way it sees fit.French citizens should not bow in any manner to accomadate these rude and ungrateful aliens.Stand up for your rights french men and woman. It's your country for God's sake!It's not theirs! If the muslims don't want to assimilate like the rest then they should pack and leave France.What nerve! They are being fed and educated and they behave like prima donna spoiled brats. Away with these ungrateful pests!Go home where you belong. Where you can express your religion and your primitive values they way you want.But leave France alone.Be gone to the hell hole from whence you came!
